Holy mother....I must admit....I've lived here two years and only yesterday saw the Porter Ridge Middle School. I was taking a back way towards Indian Trail and got detoured by construction...I came upon the school and looked at my 3rd grader and said "that must be your high school".... He said "no it's not....so we passed the sign and my gosh....it was just the Porter Ridge middle school...

Wow....very nice....no wonder realty listing's put in bold "PORTER RIDGE SCHOOLS!!" I hope the education is as good as the appearance!!

What areas will be going to this school? We are looking at Brookhaven in Indian Trail that currently goes to Sun Valley MS.

I suspect everyone's reaction is the same! The campus IS quite impressive. Did you notice the elementary and high school are on the same campus? Close to 200 acres if I'm not mistaken. A portion of the land was donated by a UC attorney named Porter ...

Zipbags....checkout this link. It provides PDF maps of the different clusters for 2007-2008 school year.

2007 /2008 District Attendance Maps (http://fpc.ucps.k12.nc.us/php/2007-2008SchoolYear.php - broken link)

You can also use the assignment finder. If you don't have an address, there's a phone number listed.

UCPS School Assignment Finder (http://www.ucps.k12.nc.us/schoolassignment/schoolassignmentfinder.htm - broken link)

The Porter Ridge design was also used to build Marvin Ridge. Hopefully they'll keeop using it as this is more cost effective for the tax payer.

Default About Porter Ridge High...

Porter Ridge High School (broken link)

The Weddington cluster was the first to group the elementary/middle/high on adjoining campuses. Weddington HS was the prototype for Porter Ridge.

Marvin Ridge Middle & High are on the same campus, with Sandy Ridge ES within sight just down the road. Here are some construction photos from Marvin Ridge HS:
Spring 2007 (scroll down, they are there)

I understand they hope to also cluster the new schools off Cutherberson Rd in a campus setting.
