A new Edward Jones office just opened off of Prosperity Church Rd in the Food Lion shopping center. Just visited yesterday, and had my accounts moved from SoFla to his office. Alan was very thorough, and I didnt encounter the heavy sales approach we had in SoFla.

I noticed the 1 diner by uptown almost completed.......I hope these do well. The one knock (from my perspective) is that they don't serve breakfast 24/7 (which all classic diners in the NE do.....) Getting 4 eggs scrambled w/a mound of hash browns at 1:30a.m......mmmmmmmm

Many people I know crave these type of establishments that are hard to find....

The Midnight Diner was a Sweepstakes parlor at the truckstop at Exit 5.

In the Cotswold area, there are two new establishments:

- A Pediatric Urgent Care specifically for children 18 and under, including newborns (on Sharon Amity across from Cotswold Village Shops). It's already open.

- An IHOP where the Blockbuster used to be in Cotswold Village Shops. Not sure exactly when it's opening, but there's a "Coming Soon" sign in the window.

Jax Backstreet Tavern is now open in downtown Belmont. A Charlotte location is supposed to be opening soon.

If anyone from the Tri-State area is familiar with Kennedy Fried Chicken & Pizza, FYI, one just opened near I-85 and Brookshire Blvd.

I see IHOP at Cotswold doing well, I'll save this post.

Sonic? LoL. Their tater tots are unique, but The Counter in town crushes other burger joints.

We tried a new bakery today, called Let It Rise. Its located where Hansel and Gretel used to be, by Northlake Mall. Their address is 8535 Hankins Rd. My Daughter had what according to her was the yummiest chocolate chip cookie she had in her whole life (though shes only 10, she has had a lot of chocolate chip cookies)! We took home a foccacia, and it was also very good. They are only a week old, so still feeling the area out to see how much to bake.

I tried a new restaurant in Ballantyne over the weekend called Creoles. It was absolutely fabulous. We had a great time and enjoyed some great food. The Bread Pudding was to die for. Made with white chocolate in place of the raisins. Give them a try it is tucked on the backside of the center.
