As much as I love Eddie's, their po'boy is a poor substitute for the real thing. Sadly, you just cannot get real po'boy bread here in NC. Mikey, you better plan a trip further south if you really want one of these fantastic sandwiches I could give you names to places all over Louisiana

Thanks Loves... I've been lucky enough to vacation in Nawlins and just love, love, love their food. When the kids get a bit older we're definitely going back!

I so agree with you about the bread - it's always about that.

I'm not a food snob so I'm honestly looking for the closest thing we can get in the area. I did a search of this forum and was surprised that there hasn't been a discussion on Po Boys recently. Shocking!

Careful now - the Drive In chains, South 21, the clock all make a po' boy - but it's a CLT version, made with a burger, maybe double - ok, so it's called "The Poor Boy" - Poor Boy
two 3 oz. beef patties with cheese between mustard, onion, lettuce & tomato, French fries and pickle

I third of fourth the Shrimp PO Boy at Eddies Place off of Johnston Rd. near 485.

When I lived in Mississippi, my girlfriend ordered a P. O. Boy. The watress said she must be a yankee.

The correct way is poor boy.
