It's just a great place, and yes the people really make it what it is..the way everything is manicured and maintained is very refreshing to see...I love it but love is in the eye of the beholder I suppose..

I'd give you a LI analogy, but don't know much beyond your location as Seaford. Just based on that, I would not consider the Charlotte metro equivalent of Seaford to necessarily be Union County.[/quote]

Don't worry - we're not looking for an equivalent to what we have here on LI - we obviously want something different - that's why we want out of here!

I lived on LI for about three years, but originally from here. I moved back about 2 years ago... to my relief! I love and missed the waving, the "quiet" traffic. Everyone on LI were constantly blowing their horns for no reason! LOL. I was always looking around when a horn would blow, thinking a friend was trying to get my attention! Thats what we use them for here. You see a friend, blow the horn! HAHA. Also, on LI, I noticed that NO ONE would let you merge off of the ramp. 5 lanes and would just drive next to you and wouldn't let you merge. Here, and I always do, we move to the left lane and let folks merge off the oncoming ramp. It's manners

I wasn't suggesting that you wanted the same thing... Just trying to offer help in getting you some perspective.

Quite often people come down from LI and get blinded by "shiny and new" and forget about some of the best things that LI does offer. There's a lot to be said for "established and mature".
