You usually go through a buffet line and fill your bowl with veggies, noodles, and meat. Then you add spicy cooking sauces and hand your bowl to the chef for cooking. They walk around the grill while cooking.
Here is a picture if you don't know what I am talking about.

There have been several in the past. Unfortunately all the ones that I used to know about have since closed. It seems like a strange thing to be in such a sort supply of in Charlotte given how you can go to almost any other big city in NC and find them.

Oh man! You just reminded me. There used to be one either right where Carabou is on East or right next to it. I LOVED that place about 10 years ago! I had forgotten all about it and about that type of restaurant. I don't know of any in the area but would love to be proven wrong.

Yeah I don't remember the name of that chain but they had another on North Tryon near UNCC.

Buffet Dynasty in Matthews sort of has this. I miss Mongolian BBQ, too.

I just googled Buffet Dynasty and their site has been suspended. Is it still open? The latest review on Yelp is from this past February. And none of the reviews are kind.

The recently opened Hibachi Grill at Windsor Square in Matthews does this, albeit with a limited number of ingredients relative to the now-closed MBBQ restaurants.

There's one opening up in Mooresville close to Walmart. Used to be a chinese buffet I think.

Looks like there's also one in Concord/Kannapolis too when I googled Hibachi grill.

Mongolian BBQ..I never heard of that..I need to get out more often. Do I have to dress in a loin cloth and a hat with horns and grow a stringy mustache to get in?? You learn somethin' new every day...
