I'm going to Union County in 2 weeks to visit some relatives. They're Florida transplants (just moved there last month- brand new to the area). Can you recommend some local activities? I'll be there for 10 days.

Parents are building in the Weddington area- Can someone give me some info on that town? I asked about Waxhaw on another thread (and I was fortunate enough to visit a couple of months ago) but I didn't have time to look around Weddington.

Thanks for any info!

Sounds nice. I saw pictures on the web and we drove through it to get to our other location. It looked like it would be peaceful.

Default Weddington

There is really no "town" to see in Weddington. Weddington is just an incorporated community. The "town square" is a Harris Teeter shopping center. The Town Hall and a medical complex abuts the HT shopping center. That's the center of town. Not being critical of Weddington, just pointing out that many of the "paper towns" along the Union/Meck border are not actually towns. Just incorporated areas. Same is true of Marvin.

Town of Weddington

Default Waxhaw Fourth of July Parade

Just south of Weddington, the Town of Waxhaw goes all out for the 4th of July. Huge crowd attends the parade. Nice fireworks shoot off from the field behind the CVS.
