It has been a few years since I been Im going to a family gathering at Surf City this weekend
so I will miss it this year. It nice to sample various restuarants that you normally do not get to.

You can also coincide your meandering down Tryon with watching the World Cup Football (soccer) Game at 2.30 on Sat. USA v England at Ri Ra. Even if you are not a football fan, watching the fans is a sport onto itself.

Did it last year, but a word to the wise...do not expect to pig out. The samples are very small.

I'd go again if there was nothing else to do.....

^I also went last year. I had a good time and I agree. The portions are very small. Don't go with an empty stomach unless you a planning to spend a lot of money.

Anyone know if there is a lot of things for small children to do? I went to the site but it didn't say much.

IIRC there wasn't a lot last year but I did see a lot of families there. Just a few things.

ETA: Coin Prices
$20 = 15 coins
$80 = 60 coins
$300 = 225 coins
$600 = 450 coins

Since most samples are 2 or 3 coins, 15 coins can go pretty fast! I may be wrong but I think water and sodas were 2 coins and beer was 4 coins.

There was an area with a magician, bouncy house and those blow-up slide things. I expect it'll be the same this year. It cost 2 or 3 coins each to do the slides and bouncy house.

I volunteered at Taste of Charlotte last night, and it was FANTASTIC! I'm going to take the boys today. Expensive, kinda, but man, they had really, really good food! I got a few coins for volunteering, so that'll help!

Loved seeing the diversity of Charlotte's restaurants. We've come a long way!
