Default Schools & Horse Properties

What towns in that area should I be looking at for 1. Good schools and 2. horse properties that allow easy commuting to Charlottesville.

Thank you!

I think the answer depends in large part on how much money you have to spend. If money is not a limiting factor, look in Albemarle County. If money is an issue, consider the surrounding counties. There are horse properties in all of them.

With respect to Louisa County, I would not give it a stellar rating on the schools. If you have high school students, they will be stuck in modular units for several years due to the earthquake damage to the existing unusable high school.

Augusta County would have lower priced farms (generally speaking) than Albemarle County, but I would not want to have to go over Afton Mountain every single work day.

Good luck in your search.

There are a number of horse properties in the Crozet area, and the schools generally rank among the best in Albemarle County.

It's very pricey, though.
