I'm moving over to Charlottesville and need a high speed internet provider. I found a thread from two years ago that said CenturyLink and Comcast are good. Is this still true? For personal reasons, I can't use Comcast.

Opinions on CenturyLink or other providers? Thank you.

Centurylink DSL or satellite are the only options we have in White Hall. Century link is better than satellite and when we ran into some issues they had good customer service. Also cheaper than satellite.

Thank you for the response, gregir. Good to hear CenturyLink has good customer service. Over here in Staunton, I've been using Verizon for internet and land line. They've been fine, but apparently don't offer internet service in the Charlottesville area. Seems weird to me, but there it is.

HI,

Centurylink is OK BUT Cable modem is faster....I have Comcast cable and like it better than DSL from Centurylink.

Thanks for the reply, Andrew, but as I said, I am looking for someone other than Comcast. I know you're right about the cable internet being really fast, though. I just can't use Comcast.
