What are some good wedding venues near Charlottesville with good views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, that aren't too expensive? It seems like a lot of people seem to like choosing this area for destination weddings, and that's pushing the price up for locals like us.

Any winery, check with ruritan halls, camp Albemarle- I had my wedding there and it was fun. Not a traditional wedding as we had a slip and slide, kickball, swimming in the river, bonfires, and lots more but a pretty place that has many special memories for me.

I like the winery idea, check the ones along route 151 in Nelson county, most are right at the base of the mountains with nice views. There's Swananoah(spelling?) on top of Afton Mountain, I think they do weddings, there are awesome views from there.

I'd suggest Veritas Vineyard & Winery. Brother-in-law got married there about 3 years ago. Great food, beautiful scenery, and terrific setting. Check it out here:

King's Family Vineyard in Crozet would be lovely. While I have been there, I have seen them setting up for weddings. They have nice facilities inside and outside. There is an expanse of green area with a gorgeous mountain view.
Veritas Vineyard also, but imo, King's Family is ideal for an outdoor wedding.
