As a neighbor to your south in North Carolina, I was impressed very in hearing how your voting turnout was up over 30% and how many came out overall. I wish other cities like mine and many others across the United States would be as dedicated and committed to participating in our democracy like you did on Nov. 7.

Stay strong and keep moving forward, Charlottesville. You've been through a lot this year and have come out shining. The rest of America is proud of what you're doing.

Around 42k voted in 2017 compared to 55k in 2016 for all of Albemarle County; A loss. For Cville it was a gain of a bit under 14%. How do you calculate that as a 30% gain?
