I've heard great things about Charlottesville's music scene! Are there any well known artists in Charlottesville besides Dave Matthews? If so like who?If so are people pretty good about respecting their privacy or do they have crazy fans mobbing them everytime they go out?

Yes, hello There are some celebrities in this area, and no, people don't mob them. There are many very excellent musicians in all different types of music here, but as far as I know, no one else with the popular name recognition of DM.

Sissy Spaceck ( I think), Rob Lowe?, um maybe Elizabeth Taylor. I heard Kevin Costner bought a farm near there back in the early 90s. Or was that Leesburg? Anyways, yes they do have some.

Dunno... I just wonder if broadcasting which celebs live here doesn't encourage loonies to, in fact, mob them. I thought one reason they liked this area is that they were allowed to be just people here. No one out rummaging through their garbage or lurking in the boxwood.

The biggest C'ville celeb is one Tom Jefferson, and the gentleman has been dead many years. Dave Matthews is a real popular "hometown hero" even though he's a transplant, too, but this is Jefferson's Virginia.

I know that Kami Cotler (who played Elizabeth on "The Waltons" 1972-1981), used to live in the Schuyler Virginia area in the early 2000s and worked as a school teacher. She has since moved back to California.

Rita Mae Brown, the author of mysteries lives there too. She's also a master for the famous fox hunts in November.
