Question Salary/Cost of Living in Charlottesville

I recently received an offer for a job in Charlottesville, VA. What should I ask for in Salary? I am a single female with no children to consider. I would be moving from Southwest Missouri. Thanks!!!

Charlottesville doesn't really qualify as NoVA. And unless you wanted to share your experience level and type of job, no one will know what to tell you!

Why don't you check out one of the salary comparison sites? It might cost $20 to join, but if it nets you an extra $5 or 10k that's worth it, in my opinion.

I am going to move this post and the reply following it to the new(!) Charlottesville forum as that area is indeed considered separate from Northern Virginia. It would also helped if you shared what your line of work would be so others would be able to say whether you are receiving a fair offer.

I'm from Charlottesville, VA but live in NoVA now. It totally depends on what your job entails and the years of experience, but I would say that you could live comfortably in Cville making 50K/year. Decent 1 bedroom apartments run about 800+.
