Just Passing through - hotel recommendation (Chattanooga: hotels, mall, safe)

Hi,

My family and I will be passing through Chattanooga on our move down to Florida and are looking for a good part of town to stay overnight in. Does anyone have any feedback on that?

We would like something south of Chattanooga, near the interstate, fairly quiet and safe so we can get a good night's rest.

Anywhere between Chattanooga & Atlanta would be a good stopping point... prefer closer to Chattanooga, though.

I would think the Dalton, Georgia area is what you're looking for if you are not going to be recreating, just passing through as you say...

I'm from Florida and in Chattanooga now for a visit. I stayed at Red Roof Inn on Shallowford road, right off I-75 south. It was very clean, the people were friendly and it was only $47/night with AAA discount! Lots of other hotels in the area, but most are more expensive. Mall and lots of good eats are just down the street as well. Hope this helps! Have a safe trip...
