New to Chattanooga, want to Live near work (Hamalton Place Mall) (East Brainerd: estate, apartment complex)

[SIZE=2]Moving from out of state and would like to live in a decent area near work without a long commute during rush hour. Are there any good apartments, townhouse, or rental homes near Hamilton Place Mall in downtown Chattanooga? If not which direction should I go to have minimal drive time to and from work?

There are a TON of nice apartments in that area. Hamilton Pointe, Hidden Creek, Hamilton Chase, etc... Too many to list here. Do a search on Chattanooga rentals zoning in on East Brainerd. Also Craigs list should help. The major arteries through there are E Brainerd Rd, Gunbarrel Rd and Shallowford Rd. It's a SUPER busy area and Christmas traffic will make you pull your hair out. The closer the better.

Thanks for the info I will check Craigslist! Would there be any nice apartments within walking distance to the mall or maybe a short trip by city bus? Also are there townhouses or rental homes in clsoe proximity?

YOu bet there are 3 or 4 complexes right on the same street as the mall and they are quite nice. Those would be Gunbarrel Rd listings. There are homes nearby but you would not want to walk that far. The whole area is just jammed with commercial sites and homes are on the perimeter. Check mapquest aerial views and you will see what I mean.

A big help would be to check with individual apartment complexes. You can see many listed here. There are maps on that site too.

I can vouch for Carriage Park....we looked at their units, and found them to be very clean. Price seemed a little high comparatively speaking. Right on Gun Barrel Rd
