T minus 5 days until we visit
What is the best scenic drive near Chattanooga right now? Two boys who have never seen fall colors.
Anyone? We arrive this Friday and looking forward to 40 degree mornings and 70 degree highs!

How very exciting for you guys! Here's a fun ride: Out of downtown take Veterans Bridge north to Hixson Pike.....and enjoy the ride! Just watch out for the speed cameras on the "S" curves!

If you have time I would suggest Fall Creek Falls. Or take Hwy 127 across Signal Mountain into the Sequatchie Valley. Also Hwy 27 up towards Dayton. A loop could be made out of the Sequatchie Valley suggestion, travel up to Pikeville, take Hwy 30 East to Dayton, then Hwy 27 South back to Chattanooga. But I don't know how long you would like spend driving around. Have fun and take plenty of pictures.

Yeah, I was going to say, TriDad's suggestion was just one of the main roads north from the city, not scenic in a fall foliage kinda way. He just likes the houses along there!
I was also thinking Highways 127 or thereabouts. I know when we all met at Cumberland Mountain State park the ride was beautiful and the leaves had not started changing yet.

Lookout Mtn & Rt 27 North
GB: Looks like my neighbors all have the same opinion. Sort of #27 North out of the city has Walden ridge(Signal mtn on left or West) and river on the right to get both views. CREEKCAT seems to be almost in my backyard. Are you Soddy , Possum or Sale creek ?
. View from the Ruby Falls parking lot (Lookout Mtn ) is something to be seen or the twisty rd west to Nick - a jack res. If boys need a kayak paddle ride, let me know. We will have your temp guarantee, mid week rain, should have sun back for weekend, still cutting grass.

In Sale Creek, at the foot of the mountain. I have wondered how far south of Dayton you were located.
