I have been wanting to relocate from PA and I have been to the Ootlewah/Harrison area several times in the past few years. Looking at the Ten Mile area(online) and it seems to fit my criteria as I am not looking for a really busy area, yet don't want to be too isolated. Hospitals/medical not too far away? The water is a big plus. My friend lives on the water (Wolftever area) and been out many times on the water fishing and on the jetski. As far as work, I am a woodworker by trade, but I would have to find "steadier" employment doing something until I can get established. Can anyone shed some light on the Ten Mile Area or nearby? Thanks!

Lab Guy,
Meigs Co. (where Ten Mile is located) is primarily rural, open area with mostly small farms and "farmettes". Dayton (county seat of Rhea Co.) is going to be somewhat more populated and offer more in the way of conveniences (shopping, medical care, etc.). Either area should have plenty of housing available for purchase and/or rent. If you're looking for a few (1-5) acres you shouldn't have a problem finding something to your liking in either location. Honestly, other than for the better choice of stores, etc. in Dayton, there's probably not much difference in the general 'lay of the land' between the two. Come on down and spend a few days and scout out the area. A local Realtor should be able to point out a few properties to your liking as long as you realize that they will be pushing 'their' listings primarily.
