Alright, I am moving to Chattanooga from the North east and I am very excited. One of the things that have got me a little worried is entertaining and having fun with our little guy. He's two and pretty fun and active.

Looking for any info on play groups, or activities. We will be in the downtown area, but we can drive 20 minutes out if necessary.

My thoughts were the following:
Creative Arts Museum
TN Aquarium
Coolidge Park
Any other thought?

My kids LOVED the TN Valley Railroad Train Museum but 2 may be a little young.

The kiddy rides at Lake Winnie maybe?

Riverview Park. Lots of young families hang out there. Nice place to play. If you get in with the Normal Park, Bright School, St Peters, St Jude crowd Riverview Park is a popular spot for play groups.

If you join a Country Club of course you'll have the pools.

I hear the East Brainerd "Y" has a great pool. Pretty nice one at the Hixson Location too. The Downtown "Y" has a nice indoor pool. My kids took swimming lessons there.

The Pumpkin Patch on Signal Mtn has an awesome playground. MrsRiverview would drive the boys up there to play.

Creative Discovery Museum also has a Play Gym program that is great- my 2 1/2 year old loves it. There are a ton of playgrounds, etc. East Brainerd Y has a great play structure, too. If you want to send me a private message I will link you to a blog that has a great listing of local parks, etc.

Thanks so much I really appreciate the ideas. I thought it was going to be hard to sell Chattanooga to my wife -- that was easy. Selling it to our little one is the tough part....Here is the revised list:
1) Creative Arts Museum
2) TN Aquarium
3) Coolidge Park
4) TN Valley Railroad Train Museum
5) Kiddy rides at Lake Winnie
6) Riverview Park
7) Country Club with pools
8) Downtown and East Brainard Y's
9) Pumpkin Patch Playground on Signal

Thanks.... any activities good for nature walks or playgroups?

K-Chatt

The North River "Y" has a great pool too. Sorry I left that on out.

Much easier to get to and no Ridge cut traffic.

Riverview Park

The playground behind Normal Park Museum Magnet school is actually a city park with a playground.

The Pumpkin Patch on Signal Mtn.

Smile Mommy and Me activities

We live in East Brainerd so many of our activities are centered here. We love the Kindermusik program, and Ms. Ann at Christ United Methodist in East Brainerd is great! They also have other locations. We also love The Little Gym on East Brainerd. Both awesome programs. We go to Heritage Park to play on the playground a lot. It's right off East Brainerd close to the Little Gym.

We take our 2 year old out to the park at the VW plant almost every weekend. Fabulous place to ride bikes (the baby loves his chariot) or walk.
