Depending on your taxable income, it could be beneficial to live in TN where there is NO state income tax. However, if you have lower income but want big property, then it's better to live in GA.

Friends and coworkers tried to convince me to buy a home in GA because of lower propterty taxes. After all the calculations, I found that it was the same or better for me to live in TN.
