I am trying to compare humidity in Chattanooga to where I currently live. What do you think of the humidity in Chattanooga this weekend, Aug 24, 25 and 26? Is it average for this time of the year or higher / lower? I am trying to understand how people who have lived in Chattanooga for years "feel" about the humidity or heat & mugginess this weekend. Have a great weekend everyone.

Concentrate on dew points. It's a better indicator of comfort.

Thank you for the response. I felt Friday, 24th was very pleasant. I felt Saturday was more muggy and hot.

Can someone tell me if Saturday Aug 25th feel around average for mugginess feel this time of the year? Or was it more / less muggy than usual?

To me, it still felt somewhat lower than usual. It can slap you in the face, starting in the mornings, this time of year, but it hasn't for several days, really nice.

It has been lower than normal for the past few days. Today was more normal for August.

I have looked at the numbers this weekend. The Dew points seem pretty close to where I live.

^^^^^This.

Learn what dewpoint means. You can go to any of the weather websites, key in Chattanooga and get that information.

You can also locate a Chattanooga TV channel on line, go to their weather page to see what temps, humidity/dewpoint are.

I live 85 miles NW of Chattanooga. As of this writing (7:15 PM) temp is 86; feels like is 90; humidity is 58%;

Dewpoint is 70 and THAT is what makes for miserable weather.

I just read all that information from my Nashville Channel Four weather app --- an app you can also find for Chattanooga and download to your Smartphone.

Anytime the dewpoint is 60 and above, it makes the temperature miserable.

It is August in the SE so this is normal, I'm sad to say

Thank you for this info. I had not thought of looking up local weather channels online. I will try to find a source of historical dew point information.

August in the SE is way better than January in the Midwest.
