Our relatives have been warning us that we may be way to liberal to fit in, but it sounds like that may not be the case.
We have seen St. Elmo, and like it a lot.
I hadn't heard about the Southside. Could someone please give me information on how that would show up on real estate listings? Any street names, for example?
Thanks so much!!

I think housing would be your biggest concern, moreso than fitting in. That's because there are areas of Chattanooga that are every bit as liberal as anywhere I've lived/visited/worked. I work with several engineers who live on the northshore around Mississippi Ave. Plus, I'm told Missionary Ridge also has lots of UTC faculty members of a more liberal persuasion. St. Elmo would be also, but I can't vouch for the schools. I know that Normal Park is well known as a top public school. The north shore is zoned for NP.
