I dunno I hate to give a negative regarding this 'festival' but wife and I attended last year and found it to be lame at best. We thought that maybe since it was a cornbread festival, you might be able to buy some cornbread-based foods, sorta like you can kinda expect to eat chili at a chili cookoff or ribs at a Ribfest. Most of the foods were the same booths you see at any fair or carnival, with only a very few offering anything made from cornbread. I do realize there are some shows or demonstrations, but honestly I think the free market on Sundays at the Pavilion in the Noog is just about as big and has more unique offerings. It also doesn't cost anything to get in or take 40 minutes to get to. The CB Fest is, imo, a small town street festival with a gimmick.

Just my 2 cents . . . sorry to be harsh on the topic but we got really excited last year and were really disappointed.

You know Das, you're statement is exactly right. Sorry you guys didn't enjoy yourselves. It's NOT all about cornbread and that is pretty disappointing. It is crowded and the vendors ARE the same you see at most festivals. If you are looking for the big time fair, this isn't the place to go...

BUT small town street festivals are my thing so I still loved it I have a small child and I suppose reliving the excitement and thrill of a carnival through him brings the charm out for me. I was more scared on the ferris wheel than he was

I'm definitely not saying it isn't worth checking out as a street festival, I was just all excited about the cornbread aspect which was the disappointment. Not trying to say its a total waste if you know what to expect and are good with it.
