Default Thieves and Cons

Just wanted to put people on alert. I live in the E. Brainerd area (Belleau Woods Sub), and a guy was going door to door asking for $40 donations for the all-volunteer Rescue Squad. He said there wasn't a way to mail in a donation and that he's only in the neighborhood that day.

I said hold on and went inside to ask my wife about it, and she said no. I go back to the porch, and he is filling out a receipt with my address on it, and I say sorry but we're not going to donate.

He looks at me kinda mad and says "Well, I already filled this out, sir."
-Awkward silence-
Him: "What am I supposed to do with this?"
-more awkward silence-
Me: (annoyed cuz he's on my porch after a stressed day at work trying to argue) "I am very sorry."
Him: "I already filled it out because you said 'OK.'"
Me: "I said OK, hold on let me go talk about it. I didn't tell you to write the receipt."
He gives me this look, and then goes to his car. Then he drives next door (about 20 feet), and I guess does the same to my neighbor. Anyway, he doesn't seem to stop at anyone else's home, so I thought it was weird.

I looked up the number of the only place known as the "Rescue Squad", and they said nobody is out going door to door.

So, everyone be on the lookout for things like this as the economy gets more sour.

Angel079 is on a distinguished road
They keep doing this stuff over & over & everywhere...Its such a shame really cause once someone comes around who REALLY collects for a good cause you won't donate any more....
