Infant Daycare & Pediatrician
My husband and I are relocating to Chattanooga from Palm Springs, CA. We have a 10 1/2 month old daughter and we need recommendations on daycare and pediatricians. In daycare, we prefer a licensed facility vs. an in-home setting, but we will consider both. For at least the next six months we will be living in the E. Brainerd area near the GA border.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!  |

Pediatrician - Dr Virginia Rodgers. We love her and she is in your neck of the woods too
I can't help with infant care (sorry  ) BUT when your child turns 2, the Jewish Community Center is GREAT! I can't say enough about them! There is one I have heard about... Primrose I believe. |

We see Dr. Shumaker at Galen Pediatrics, and she is great! We do not have need of daycare (mother-in-law helps with that), so we can't help there....

Wife and I live in E Brainerd area too. When we first moved there, we stayed at Creekside Village Apts. Ended up liking the area and bought a home last September.
Our son is 9 months old and goes to Ridgedale Baptist Church daycare. It has been wonderful! And priced very reasonable too at under approx $475 per month. We considered Primrose, which is also in the area, and they run about $880 per month. I was worried that our son might not be getting the care due to significant difference in cost, but now know there is nothing to worry about. He's been there for 3 months now, and progressing really well. And don't be put off by so many churches having daycares. Chattanooga has a church on every corner and is part of the culture here.
Daycares I know of: Primrose on Gunbarrel, Ridgedale Baptist on Hickory Valley, Grace Baptist on Shallowford, and there's another one at the intersection of Gunbarrel and E Brainerd Rd. There are wait lists for most.

My family and I have been pleased with the care my kids receive at The Children's Doctors, PC. They have a locations on Gunbarrel Rd, very near East Brainerd. They have several physicians and nurse practitioners, and we really like them all.

We use The Children's Doctors too!
Dr. Estep. They have a Battlefield, GA location too that is open on Saturdays. We had to go once, and it was not too far away. |
