Default signal mtn or ooltewah?

We've got two homes we can rent in both areas. Sig mtn (thrasher) has 10/10 scale rated schools and ooltewah(wallace a smith) has 9/10 rated schools according to greatschools.net. Sig mtn is a really small older home, that we can be cozy in...home is located on narrow st. no garage and parking will be on street; I'll have to get boat parking for boat. There is virtually no traffic on the street. Ooltewah has garage parking, new home, and I could get my 22' boat in the garage, and no traffic as well. Signal mtn has some things to do with kids but is kinda remote; ooltewah has the lake nearby...I've never checked on other things to do...my wife likes to run and I motocross and we all wakeboard. My question is where is the best fit?
Help!

You really need to visit both cities and decide which one works better for you. It depends on where you will work. Signal mountain is closer to downtown Chattanooga, and is more scenic that ooltewah. There's more traffic and people in Ooltewah and east Brainerd, so it's a toss-up.

mch4386 is on a distinguished road
I've lived in Ooltewah and worked on Signal Mtn. and I must say that I would prefer not to have to drive that mountain every day, if at all possible. Signal Mtn.'s school are going to be better funded, probably, because of the amount of wealth in the area, but Ooltewah is coming on strong. Its much closer to the river, for those type of activities, and is also much more convenient to almost anything else you would like to do. Don't get me wrong, Signal Mtn. is a beautiful place. I just despised driving up and down that mountain every time I needed anything other than food. Its pretty tough on your car and on your wallet when you figure in the gas. The only problem I had in Ooltewah was that I-75 does tend to back up during rush hour since they're doing construction in the area. Ooltewah is also only about 15 mins. to Cleveland, which opens up a wealth of other options for activities, dining, etc.
