As a brand new resident I think Chat is great. I've lived all over the country and I've found it great here. Friendly, lots to do, great weather, a city interested in improving itself, room for growth still. I only hope too many more people don't come down here and trying to turn it into a big city.

I'm loving that I found this website! My husband and I met @ UTC, started our life together in Chatt, then started a family and moved to Knoxville to be close to OUR families. My oh my how we miss it. I am a SAHM, but my husband has his resume all over Chattanooga trying to make our way back. Wish us luck!!

Hi Everyone! I was wondering if anyone could reccommend a good vet for my pets? Also, has anyone travelled long distances (12hr car ride) with thier pets? If so, should a sedative be used to take the edge off? Thanks for all your help!!

As for the car travel...our vet in FL gave us one before making the drive up which was about 12 hours in total. Worked great and our little furry friend has been happy ever since we arrived! |

He is presently the Director of Accounting at a local company - looking for Controller/Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager positions.
When we've visited recently, we're amazed at how far the city has come in the 3 short years we've been away!! |

Hello, SouthGirl!
The ZIP you gave, 37416 is in the Northeast area of Chattanooga, up Highway 58. There are some very nice areas up that way and you might find some areas where it is far less urban than you would think. My wife and I have lived up near Cleveland, TN for the past 20+ years and both of us have worked in Chattanooga many of those years. In fact my wife still drives down that way a couple days each week. So, we have been there, done that! We have both driven home many, many times out through the 37416 area and even attended church there for a couple of years. As I am sure others have said, there are other conderations to take in to account: such as how much do you want to spend, how much land do you want, how far is your spouse willing to drive to work, and stuff like that. I didn't get what part of the country you are coming from so I can't throw-in my two cents as to how it would compare to where you are now. All in all, we LOVE it here in Tennessee and we now call this "home". Give it a chance and you might also... Good luck! |
