Default Chattanooga area property tax?

is the percentage (5.09/$100) calculated on 100% of the
assessed property value or 25% like up in Nashville

(according to http://www.nashvilleareainfo.com/Def...ge=PropertyTax)

For that matter..which of the following metro areas have lower property tax:

Chattanooga
Nashville
Knoxville

Every incorporated town in Tennessee has its own property tax rate. Within Davidson County (Nashville) there are four different towns so four different rates. Knox County has two different rates. Hamilton County (Chattanooga) has 11 different property tax rates.

Residential property throughout Tennessee is assessed at 25% of their appraised value. Farms are also assessed at 25% of their appraised value.

Here's the state's web site with 2006 property tax rates for every community in the state:

thanks for the info! On the Nashville Chamber of Commerce site it mentioned that tax rate is based on 25% of value. Is it similar in Chattanooga?

Go back and read my previous post. That 25% assessment is throughout Tennessee. So, yes, they do it in Chattanooga, too.
