Default Traffic cameras - learned my lesson!

Yep, got this nice letter in the mail, with some great pics of our vehicle speeding. Cannot deny it! Wish I could! Am only glad the pics were clear enough to see it was my husband and not me!!!

I thought the cameras were for red light running. How do they do it for speeding?
Where are the cameras located?

I honestly don't know, but the pictures were of our vehicle from the rear - license tag clearly visible. The fine was only 50.00 and probably would have cost more to fight so we just paid it. The letter they sent (along with the two pictures) said it would not go against his driving license - which makes sense because if it would have, we probably would have elected to fight it. We probably were speeding a little over the posted limit soooooo.......

Default Speeding camera in Nashville years ago.

We had one of the portable speed cameras on Briley Parkway which showed your speed and, of course, took your picture and got your license tag if you were speeding. The speed limit is 55mph on that stretch of road.

A young woman several years ago, thinking it only indicated your speed and not knowing it was a speed camera too, decided how fast she could drive. It clocked her at 75mph. But, she wasn't satisfied that was the fastest her car could go. She went to the next exit, came back past the camera, went to the next exit and back onto the same stretch of road to see if she could go any faster. The next time she was clocked around 95. She got both tickets in the mail.

Imagine what a shock that was!!

I hope wherever he was going in such a hurry was worth $50. The best philosophy is to not break the law, then you have nothing to worry about. You might pass that notion along to your hubby.

At times certain laws are put in place to enhance revenue flow into municipality coffers and at times laws are unreasonable and do not fulfill the intent. we have all seen knee jerk reactions by politicians as well as speed traps in towns. When a blanket statement is made that one should follow the law just because it is the law and not questioning it when it is unjust then that takes away the democratic ideals of this country and reverts us in the direction of a totalitarian state.
