If anyone is interested, saw on HGTV that a couple is going to be building their "dream home" in Chattanooga, and the whole event will be taped!

Will be fun to watch, and see the beauty of Chattanooga (well for me anyways!)

Premieres Sunday, Feb. 11 at 10pm e/p, details are on HGTV's website, click the "on TV" tab.

Default HillSide Challange.?

M: Good reminder. Think this series got delayed about 6 months with the construction. I might know where the lot is located, maybe half acre, overlooking hillside slope.? Extra challange or foundation with Brow views.
. Another program later in the year was mentioned for the re-sale of the Space ship or ufo, saucer house going up Signal mtn road. Built many years ago on legs, unique, and listed now at bargain $184,900. HGTV crew was there Wednesday, great location 0.75 acre, 2nd place national winer in 1994 unique contest.

There was a big story in the paper about the dream home a while back in our local paper timesfreepress It was a huge home! I think it's on the ridge in North Chattanooga.... opposite side of Olgiatti (sp?) bridge from Coolidge Park. Stringers ridge? The couple was wondering how they were going to furnish the home lol Also, split did you see the article on the space house yesterday? I had no idea it had 3 stories! I always take out of town visitors out to see that one.

Cool West side of rt # 27 river BRIDGE

T.D. As one crosses the Rt #27 river bridge it is about 1/4 mile WEST, on the North shore, called Stringer ridge. Back of house about 5 stories high, sort of stands out,

My wife and I watched the show through to the end and wondered if the couple was ever able to sell the house. Anyone from the area know what happened to it?

HHmmmm, if I am remembering right this was a wedding gift or first marriage home, whatever since the groom/husband's family are builders? I had no idea they were going to sell but I did not watch the show, just info from our local paper. Interesting.

Hubby and I watched the show also. The wife's dad is a builder, and built his daughter and son in law their 'dream home' (within $500k, which was $100k over daddy's budget).

IMHO, baby girl and hubby, both in their early 20's, didn't earn this house, and I was quite happy to hear that they had to sell it, when they FINALLY learned that they wouldn't even be able to afford to live there. DUH! If daddy really wanted to do something for baby girl, then hold the budget to $50k to $75k. Baby girl and hubby have a HECK of alot of maturing to do, and building that house for them certainly didn't help them in that process.

JMHO

blessings, Shen

Default Update in Today's Chattanooga Newspaper

Check out the story about the house in today's (April 23rd) Chattanooga Times Free Press. The couple says HGTV shelled out about $500,000 to film them. No wonder they dreamed big!
