Hi! My husband and I are considering a possible move to Chattanooga. We are both in our late 20s and have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. I am a SAH mom and my husband works in marketing. We have several questions about the area and I REALLY appreciate input! We currently live in Jackson, MS and we are burned out and tired of crime, but the 'burbs are not appealing!
1) Is Chattanooga "proper" a good place to live, or is it overrun with crime? What are the public schools like in Chattanooga- would we need to go private?
2) What is medical care like? Our 4 year old is special needs- we use A LOT of drs.
3) We are in the "hip" Historic district in Jackson- but crime is an issue, as is schooling. What are n'hoods like in Chattanooga? What about the 'burbs? We really aren't suburban Starbucks/Strip Mall people. No offense at all- to each his own
