Interesting article quote, The 28-year-old event moved to Chattanooga after it outgrew venues in the Atlanta area, said Deb Farrell, a spokeswoman for the races. The event is organized by the Atlanta Rowing Club and the Lookout Rowing Club of Chattanooga.
“We used to host it on the Chattahoochee, but we outgrew that, so we went up to Lake Lanier ... but truly (organizers) were looking for a place to hold the event that had the amenities people wanted,” Ms. Farrell said.

Lucky Weather -this week
GB: Seem to be awake & on the JOB early again. Must be a military background.
.Maybe 2 years ago Chatt got this Atlanta event . Second biggest in country behind Boston or Yale N.E. event. Great viewing area.
. Darn LUCKY this week with 72 degree temps. Last weekend unusual cold blast. Start is up by the bike path college boathouse.
. Wife saw lots of practise boats at Aquarium Friday. Close to the Hudson river ,Poughkeepsie , MARIST college area where we lived & their rowing.

Awesome picture Split, I love the bridge view in the background. No military background, but I am always an early riser, more of a devoted runner thing...4:15am most mornings.

75 Degrees & $ 2.19 GAL - Happy Campers
G.B. : Sun rise right now over the ridge , goint to 75 degrees today.
Gas selling $ 2.19 Gal yesterday .
. Had big outdoor church food fest , bonfire , hayride last night with neighbors that went to rowing , had VERY good time.
. Did not see that $ 5,000 garbage can . Glad on load . Think it would get stolen 1st night after midnight . Solar power to COMPACT trash .
Enjoy football . Think TENN neighbors know this is a OFF year.
May take boat out today . watch new york Marathon. Friends entered , I was a 5K specialist , a few 10 K.
