Ooltewah or Collegedale, town center (Chattanooga, Cleveland: city hall, broker, live in)

Does either town have a town center, old town, city square, etc like Cleveland does?

Or are they more like suburbs of Chattanooga?

Leonard I am not sure how to explain this. Collegedale has the Village market and the Plaz which for all intents and purposes is the hub of Collegedale activity. That being said, the city hall and library are in a different location. The Plaz seems to be the social hub. As for Ooltewah, there is an old section of town but nothing much goes on there anymore. It is fairly spred out and suburban like yet with a small town feel. If it is old time small town feel then Collegedale is most likely the choice. Feel free to ask any other questions that you may have. I live in Collegedale.

Neither has a central, compact town center, though Collegedale does feel like a town in and of itself. Ooltewah just feels like (at least to me) extended urban sprawl development from East Brainerd. Collegedale is reasonably scenic, has a fantastic greenway (at this point the second best in the Chattanooga area), and... I dunno. It has a little of that "x" factor that makes a little town feel like a little center in an of itself. As marinabroker wrote, it's a hard idea to pin down.

I have driven through both "towns" and love that area. I just did not see a typical town center and wasn't sure if one existed or not.
