Default Meet up between Knoxville and Chattanooga

Hello! I am from AZ but am going to be staying in Chattanooga this summer for a week. I have a friend who lives in Knoxville that I would like to meet up with. We both have two small children, so a park would be ideal where they could play and we could talk. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks so much.

Athens is half way, but I don't know what parks are there...Anyone else?

There may be more activities and parks closer to the larger cities. Would you friend be willing to travel to Chattanooga?

As stated above, Athens is about in the middle, and they have a number of parks: City of Athens - Parks and Recreation

For listing of TN state parks: State Park(s) in Tennessee or TN State Parks: Find A Park - looks like none ~1/2 way between Knoxville and 'nooga though.
