Default Quick-Need Restaurant Idea for Mom/Daughter

I'm looking for a place to take a 12 year old to dinner...it doesn't have to be especially fancy but something with a nice ambience that would be considered nice to a pre-teen. I looked to see if there was an Old Spaghetti Factory but didn't see one there. But that would be along the lines of what we are looking for. Suggestions?

I would take her to Blue Plate. It's right downtown on the river and is very modern in ambiance, food is very reasonably priced. Great views, fun area, couldn't go wrong unless you specifically want Italian.

THE BLUE PLATE

There's also a very popular Cold Stone right next door, which is great for dessert. Since it's also on the park, you can walk along the river etc.

Thanks for the replies. We aren't specifically looking for Italian....just mentioned Spaghetti Factory to give you an idea of the type of atmosphere we are looking for. I think we will try The Blue Plate.

Thanks for the Cici's idea, Hishiad. We do have those where we live and always enjoy it!

Lupi's all the way. My 13 year old sister always begs to go there when visiting. They have 3 locations. I've only been to the downtown one on Broad St. There calzones are awesome. They have all kinds of interesting pizza toppings. I love there lasagna! & the ambience is unique.

Lupis or Blue plate, you can not go wrong. Blue Plate is more of a diner in every facet of the imagination, almost exactly what you would imagine, except probably a little more of an upscale diner. Lupis is going to be a lot more like the Old Spaghetti Factory in terms of internal ambience, but about 1/10th the size.

I love them both.

Wait, I had to come back and edit. Check out the big River Grill as well. High ceilings, lots of tables multi level, a gaming and bar area, pizza made right at the pool tables, that restaurant is very vibrant and would very closely resemble the OSF.

Timing is everything, check out this video from today's Chattanooga Times Free Press, with a video of the inside of the Big River Grille restaurant. A picture is worth a thousand words, what is a video worth??
