I didn't notice Chattanooga on the most conservative list. How odd. Weird. I wonder how this could be? Perhaps, just perhaps, one of us has some misconceptions regarding the area. Nah. Stupid nonpartisan funded study is obviously way off.

Chattanooga: Great Place to Live
Dasmarian, Hopefully, we can agree on this: I think that this area is a great area for people to invest in and I am glad to call it home. Chattanooga, whether viewed as Liberal or Conservative, serves as a national template for bringing a city from its knees to a standing position. I am personally proud of the City and County Governments, including the current and former Mayor(s) and City Council Members, and the efforts of the citizens of Chattanooga for the "about face" transition that the city has taken. Chattanooga has risen from the former title of Dirtiest City in America to currently be referred to as One of the Nations' Greenest. National publications routinely use buzzwords such as sustainability, greenways, revitalization, and strategic revisioning when describing the progressive nature of the city. I certainly feel welcome, at ease, and very much at home here. I hope that you also feel that way.

My Apologies
My apologies to all. The tone and vibe of several of my post were negative and uncalled for. I will attempt to limit my future post to those that add content that is at the least informative, constructive, and semi-intelligent.
If I could delete or change some of my recent post, I would. I am embarassed by my behavior.

I agree that Chattanooga, to a certain extent, is a bit of a beacon to the Bible belt, though it is also its buckle. It really depends what place you happen to be in and what people you happen to meet. I, for example, am an orthodox Christian and in that way would statistically affirm Bible Belt suspicions, but am radically different in my views than the stereotypical cultural Christian.
I agree that head bangers won't find many options here, but I see that as a positive. However, I don't think that the large number of "Sidewalk Cafes, Sports Bars, Bistros" implies in itself that the city is "family oriented" but that the city is more culturally refined. "Bistro" and "sidewalk cafes" bring forth very nice images that I think any destination would want to impute to itself.

That is very nice of you to step up Romeo kilo, I appreciate that post and I am sure a lot of other readers do too. How about seeing as there are several posts with some heated conversation that we close this one out, let it get buried and someone can feel free to open a new one.
