Wow,what a beautiful drive down the mountain. What a great place. We are an older retired couple looking for a place to move to and get out of Florida. We have a 5th wheel and wish we could find some RV lots to place it on. It looks just great. Would love to see some other picsyou have. Thanks for the great "ride" down the mountain

Still quite new to this, and don't really know where to start. Love this thread though. Very informative. Basically, I have lived in Memphis all my life. Nice town, but horrible government here and with the exception of one school unless you can afford private school or you can homeschool you're pretty much out of luck. Also, the crime is HORRIBLE. In our neighborhood their are no children for ours to play with and it's too dangerous for me to even walk down the street to the school park by myself. I will be done with school in a year and a half and am researching areas to relocate.
We are looking at Nashville, TN Knoxville,TN Chattanooga,TN and Lakeland, Fl area. My main concern is I don't want to move to another "Memphis" area. My husband and I are both in our late 20's and we have a 3and a half yr. old and a one year old. So good public schools are important to us as we won't be able to afford private. Also, how could we find out more about jobs in our fields? I am finishing up a degree in court reporting and my husband is in his last year as an apprentice for the pipefitters union. He would have to transfer unions I suppose. We will probably be looking for homes in the 130k - 180k price range. Not really sure until I find out the pay scale out there for our jobs. We just want a nice community to raise our family in. One where we can become more involved, make friends and have friends for our children. Thank you all in advance for any help you can give me. ![]() |

I can only compare Chattanooga and Lakeland. If that were your final two, I would choose Chattanooga.
