Default Where in Chattanooga, is best for us??

We are just starting our research for relocating, we will be vacationing there this summer, to get a feel for it. Our ideal neighborhood, would be one that is dog friendly, one with responsible owners. We are in our 40's with no children at home. We love the outdoors, hiking, canoeing etc... we recently purchased bikes as well. My husband is really into landscape photography, and I think this would be the perfect place for us. We're just not sure which area(s) of Chattanooga would be the best fit for us.

Any suggestions?

I highly recommend finding a place downtown. (And by downtown I mean downtown downtown, near the buisness distirct/riverfront.) It would be so awesome to leave one's house and be within walking distance of the riverfront... Downtown is also convenient to all sorts of outdoor activities.

I think that the area just north of the river would be an ideal fit for you. You'd be within walking distance to all the shops that are on that side of the river, and you could cycle to downtown, which is just over the river, via the Walnut St Bridge. The Riverwalk will take you all over Chattanooga, as far as the dam, so it's a great location.

hey Bushees...you're going to love it here! Just come on down and you're sure to find everything you're looking for. Definitely check out the north side of town including North Chattanooga, Stuart Heights and Hixson.

As I had stated, we have just started our research. I started looking through similar threads of others that were looking to relocate and needing info. I had followed a thread that was actually posted by you as you were doing your research. I am glad to see you decided on Chattanooga, and are happy with your decision.

I have seen alot of opinions here, but must say that from what I can see the positive feedback surely out weighs the negative.

We will be out this July to take a look around and get a feel for the place, but I am really getting a good vibe about the place.
