Ooltewah
We are relocating to Chattanooga area most likely Ooltewah TN and I was wondering if you think it's snotty. Like people try and out do others? Or always keep up with the Jones?
Has anyone ever lived any where else and then moved to the Chat area and seen the difference in a good or bad way.

Well I guess it's a good thing that no one replied Does that mean that people aren't snotty and don't keep up with the Jones. LOL

we don't live out that way so I can't really say. Everything seems to be a little bigger out that way, but bigger isn't always better! I have had heard some people lament that when all the action is on the other side of town though. Depends on what you're looking for

I haven't met a snotty person yet here in Tennessee and I've been to Ooltewah many times and I live in the next community over from them. It is a tad far from downtown Chattanooga and with so much going on downtown, you may want to move closer to the city.

I just visited there and everyone was really friendly. I spoke with numerous people and they said the High school there was not that good. We are also looking to relocate to the area. We are looking at the Soddy Daisy area closer. Just my opinion.

Just a note, Soddy Daisy is very rural. You have to drive through Hixson to get there and the traffic in Hixson is horrendous all day long.

Yes it is, but I've never seen heavy traffic on Hwy 27 through there.

Thanks for the input. I don't know much about TN traffic, but we live between Milwaukee and Chicago I don't know that there is worse traffic besides DC and CA. It's really bad here. My work is located about 13 miles away and it normally takes about 1 hour and 10 mins! Yep true

Traffic is nothing compared to Metropolitan Cities
littleelvis...
We are moving from NYC to Chattanooga. We have visited a few times and the traffic is nothing compared to where we have seen unless your driving towards Atlanta. Friends that we have made in Chattanooga have said that the Hisxon side of town is more laid back and Ooltewah is where "the movers and the shakers are" LOL! More of the restaurants, Hamilton Mall, VW Plant is on that side of town so it's busier. We are leaning towards that side of town but are still open to Hixson. It also depends where my hubby will be working.
Happy house hunting...maybe we'll meet up when we all move into town.
