Default Best places to stay in Chattanooga?

Hi all,

I'm planning our trip up and have a couple of questions about local hotels. We're going to be in Chattanooga for a couple of days in June, then up to Knoxville. Based on my research these are the hotels that look good in Chattanooga:

Ranked #1: Staybridge Suites Chattanooga Downtown
1300 Carter Street

Ranked #2: Staybridge Suites at Hamilton Place
7015 Shallowford Rd

Ranked #3: Courtyard Chattanooga Downtown
200 Chestnut

Ranked #7 (but looked interesting): Sharaton Read House
827 Broad St

We'll be traveling with 2 small children (3.5 years & 12 month old), so any place that is family friendly, maybe with a playground near by would be great.

Any help you can give would be appreciated!

Question NINE Day RIVERBEND Crowd.?

S.P.: The places you listed for the City all are top quality , but now thru next weekend the city is having the MAJOR Music NIne Day RIVERBEND City festival .?? . Would recommend reservations on anything in Chatt over the next two weeks.
... Prior house hunters / relocate members have spoken highly about a family suite concept north in Hixon zip 37343. Called either "Home -A-Way " or " Extend -A-Stay" / 423 - 643 4663. . Believe was mentioned in prior threads . ?

I think the hilton garden hotel downtown has about the best location for visiting chattanooga, but the staybridge downtown has a good location as well. I wouldn't stay out by the mall if you are looking to visit downtown, its about 15 mins away by car.

Stay at the Read House. They did a fabulous job remodeling several years ago. It has so much history associated with it. It is one of my favorite hotels anywhere. Ask for a room on the old side as they are all suites.

Default If You Like Lake Weipesuka,

then Eastridge is a pretty good place to stay, they have good Hotels. Also there are a lot of good places to stay in Chattanooga, Brainerd, Close to Hamilton Place Mall, Oltewah--collagedale are some really nice places.

I second the Hilton Garden downtown. Great location, within walking distance to numerous activities. Don't stay near Hamilton Place if you want to really experience Chattanooga. Take the kids to the Creative Discovery Museum, next door to the Hilton Garden. It's a favorite of my kiddos (3 and 5).

I would third the Hilton Garden Inn, though there are several hotels in close proximity. The Doubletree as tridad mentions and I believe there is a Marriot Residence Inn also. The Hilton was perfect for our needs, you might try a hotel search using the Aquarium as your starting point and work your way back away from the water. We also stayed once at the Read House and had a nice stay but for the age of your kids, the ones closer to the Aquarium will have more to do.

Several have also posted about a hotell called the Choo Choo, though I am not sure of the location in proximity to the downtown area. I believe that one is very kid friendly!
