I would also like to know about the best places to live near Chattanooga. Anybody familiar with the Girls Preparatory School near Chattanooga? We're thinking of sending our child there.

It really depends on what you are looking for. I'm gay and in a relationship, and I wouldn't live in Soddy-Daisy, Lookout, or Signal (esp. Signal) for anything, but that's my preference because I don't like the suburbs. I live in Highland Park and love it. It's a true "neighborhood", as in people know their neighbors and look out for one another. You don't find that in many places.

I am moving to chattanooga in a couple of weeks. I would like to find an aparment or townhouse about 20 or 30 miles outside chattanooga, somewhere in the mountains. Signal or look out mtn look good. Is there any thing else like that there? Any recommendations?
