Default So you got Volkswagen. Any other companies bringing jobs to Chattanooga?

So everybody is celebrating Volkswagen coming to Chattanooga, and that is wonderful. Have the economic development team attracted any other companies promising to bring jobs to Chattanooga?
I hope they are not sitting back after 1 triumph.
This is the perfect opportunity to use the publicity and synergy of VW to build upon and draw even greater economic growth and further diversify the local economy.
Has this happened?

Very interesting article. However, all the other projected jobs do NOT equal VW when added together. I just hope VW knows the future markets, because it seems we are moving towards smaller, more fuel efficient cars, or hybrids or fully electric cars (I know I want one), and this plant is for a MID-Sized car. So if they have made an idiotic blunder here, I would like to know that there is ADDITIONAL economic activity over and above VW so there will not be devastation to the local economy just in case . . .

The local economy is enhanced by the presence of VW - not dependent upon it. We have a number of large companies based here in different sectors all poised to benefit as the economy rebounds. They include McKee Foods, US Xpress, Covenant, Blue Cross, Alstom, Olan Mills, Chattem and more. What is very exciting to many here is the strong entreprenueral spirit that is driving many small companies. The Business Development Center ranks in the top three nationwide as launching the highest percentage of successful companies. CreateHere is another program that assists fledgling companies start up.

I could go on and on...
