I've only been to the Lupi's downtown location. It's excellent! Try a pizza with Sticky Fingers BBQ sauce instead of tomato sauce, whoa! They often have locally grown fresh basil to be added as a topping as well, mmm.
I've heard Crust Pizza is good too. Anyone tried it out?
P.S.- Unfortunately can't say I truly love any of the Thai restaurants although I still haven't tried Rain yet (will have to do that soon). So far making thai food at home has been the best bet or driving to Atlanta is be popular in my household.

Lupis and the Mellow Mushroom. We have always had a good meal at Lupis and the bottled beer selection is great. Last time in we tried the Mellow Mushroom and was also impressed. The crust is different, a little thicker, it depends on what you like. Lupis downtown had the better, cozier atmosphere.
Outside of the city and heading into Marion County, Mi Jacal in Kimball gets my vote... I will have to try this Taco Roc I keep hearing so much about!

For Mexican we love Amigo's. I'm not sure if it's a chain or not (there are two in town), but it definitely has that local feel even if it is.
For pizza, you HAVE to try claydough's pizza out in East Brainerd. They have all kinds of crazy pizza's and we haven't found one that we didn't LOVE yet. Particularly the Old World Meat Lover's and Neptune's Delight.
Lupi's is great also, but Claydough's is much more unique. Definitely the epitome of a local place. Here's their website with a menu, scroll down to the bottom of the menu to see the specialty pizzas: http://www.claydoughspizza.com/

Crust is great, but a bit pricey (not sure about the buffet). I love Amigo's tacos and they're really cheap.
