Default Chattanooga's Neighborhoods

Hello! My boyfriend and I are saving up to move to Chattanooga. I am concerned about a good neighborhood to move to and find a decent paying job. If anyone can help me please let me know.

If you're into areas on the upswing, I would check out Highland Park, where I live. It's a neat old historic area that is making the transition from ghetto to restored. It's much safer than it used to be; it's actually no worse than most neighborhoods in Chattanooga nowadays. It's a fun community with great neighbors. I've lived there for two years and love it.

Default neighborhoods

It is a good thing to hear you are saving for your move. All moves will cost you. The better neighborhoods will also cost you. Places like Soddy Daisy, Signal Mtn, Lookout Mtn, Ooltewah are all better parts of the area but home prices there may not kind to anyone just getting into a new job (Unless you make a lot of money). There are enough jobs going around but they don't all pay very well. I think the PCI for Chattanooga is somewhere around $21,000, which is high for the area. If you don't make a lot of income you may want to start small and work your way up to one of those neighborhoods. If you work at hard enough you will be able to make it happen. Don't forget about the Georgia side, there are some goods areas there too.
