blindsolitude is on a distinguished road
One private high school not mentioned: Notre Dame High School (obviously catholic). It runs about $8000 for a Catholic child and about $11,000 for non-catholic. A lot of students come from St. Jude, OLPH, and Lutheran as well as from various public schools in Hamilton County, Bradley County, and NW Ga. I actually went here for high school (went to public schools for k-8: Mtn Oaks, OIS, and OMS) and enjoyed it. I came into college with almost 2 semesters completed due to the AP courses I was offered.

I lived in East Brainerd (close to ooltewah) and you can be zoned for East Brainerd Elementary, Wolftever Elementary, or Westview Elementary. It is all about boundaries. I suggest looking at the HCDE's website for zoning information. Of course, this also determines which middle and high school your child will go to (Ooltewah or East Brainerd). As jw already stated, East Brainerd Middle-High School is brand new. Signal Mountain was mentioned. It is a beautiful area, but can be a bit pricey. Hixson isn't a bad area, but it is a nice older area. A LOT of my friends from high school lived in Hidden Harbor. . .the homes are older, but they are nice and its a nice family neighborhood. Unfortunately, I'm not too sure how great the public schools are in that area.

Default Alstom

Hey there, I do not know much about Chattanooga, I am reseaching the area for a possible relocation also, but I do know Alstom. My father has worked there for a couple of years now and they are wonderful to him. Excellent pay and benefits all around, only downside is that his job involves a lot of traveling for several weeks at a time most of the time. That part may or may not apply to you, but overall it has proved to be a very wise decision for him. Hope this helps!
