Default Moving...Soddy-Daisy or Dayton?

We are soon to be moving to the Chattanooga area. We want to be near Soddy Daisy....but aren't sure if we want to be in Soddy Daisy, or if Dayton would be better.

How do schools in Dayton and Soddy Daisy compare?

How does shopping in Dayton and Soddy Daisy compare?

Thanks for any information.

Question Bakewell.?

DOG FRIEND: WELCOME to the forum. . I guess I would be a good contact as we live between the both of them in Bakewell.
... Grocery would be the same as nice BI-LO , and Wal Mart supercenter both places. . Dayton would have a small historic city sidewalk area around the courthouse area.
.. Soddy is more rural , suburb & getting new strip malls. Soddy should also be more positive for schooling. . Where are you moving from ..?

Split is, as always right, Wal-mart Supercenters and Bi-lo Grocery stores in both. If you needed more you would probably travel to Chattanooga, which is about 30 minutes from Dayton and even less from Soddy-Daisy, using the same highway. Another option for shopping from Dayton, would be Cleveland, take highwy 60 East and be there in about 35 minutes.

Thanks for the info. We will be moving from Alabama. So we can easily travel to visit the areas and look for housing. I am pretty familiar with some parts of Chattanooga...mainly the mall, shopping, airport, and hospitals. But we do not want to live in Chattanooga. We prefer being away from city life and visiting it when we want or need to.

Are there any areas in Soddy Daisy that we should avoid? Or is it all generally a good place for families?

We are noticing that housing prices are much higher in that area than what we have in Alabama...although we currently do live in a very rural area so that might be the reason of the difference in prices. We do expect we will have to look for a smaller house than we have now to fit our current budget.

Default WaterFront access town

L.M.P. : Quite a bit of our Soddy town zip code is along the river / lake front so the high end reality market could reach $2 million.

. Also there are some of the plateau overlook , Brow lots very desirable, that would raise the town average data, or just Sunday newspaper ads.??
. There are some very nice clean double wide Modular homes on other dead end streets around $100K.?

.. I am a very light sleeper , so the rail road tracks close to route #27 was not very high on my shopping list. . Just find a nice real estate agent you are comfortable with & sure you will find your piece of paradise.
