My husband, myself and our 2 little kids (4&2) will be in Chattanooga June 12-19th, What are some of the can't miss things to do while on vacation? we will also be checking things out around the areas to see if Chattanooga is a good fit for us.
Any ideas would be great.
thanks

You can do all the usual stuff (there are lots of threads on this topic). Only thing to note is that it will probably be a little more crowded than normal (or a lot in the evening), and the Riverfront will require passes in the afternoon and evening on the downtown side.

At the top of the thread there's a button that says "New Thread". All the way over to the right there's an option to "Search This Forum". Search "vacation", "kids", "things to do". You will find many posts on this.

das hinted at this, but the dates you listed exactly match the dates of Riverbend, Chatt's annual music festival. Any plans for a relaxing stroll along the riverfront are completely shot. If you're coming FOR the festival, then it's all good. If not, well, what you see won't be the normal Chattanooga.

As far as "can't miss", that depends on you. Do you like outdoorsy stuff (hiking, biking, canoeing, geocaching, etc.)? Beautiful scenery (drives or boat rides down scenic valley)? Touristy stuff (Rock City, Ruby Falls, Incline Railway, etc.)? Native American History (Chattanooga was a starting point for one of the Trails of Tears)? Civil War History (first ever National Military Park is here)? Random things (Chattanooga is the home of the Tow Truck Museum, the site of the first-ever Coca-Cola bottling plant, and is the location where Moon Pies are made)?
