Weekend in Chattanooga. Best nightclubs and lesser known things to do? (hotel, to live)

We're going to Chattanooga for the weekend in a few days and would like a couple of pieces of advice:

1) We're staying downtown at the Marriott. Is there any good nightlife within decent walking distance of that hotel?

2) Other than the obvious (Rock City, Aquarium, Raccoon Caverns), is there anything we should check out that may be under the radar for some people??

Assuming by "a few days" you're talking about the weekend of June 11-13, I hope you planned on visiting Riverbend Music Festival while here and that you already have hotel reservations. An estimated 600,000+ people (not necessarily all at the same time) will descend on the downtown Chattanooga Riverfront from June 11 - 19.

If you like a less main-stream style of music, then Bonnaroo will be just up I-24 on the same weekend (June 10-13).

When not listening to live music and mingling with the massive crowds, many visitors from both festivals will be mingling with smaller but still substantial crowds at the standard tourist attractions. So expect lots of people where ever you go.

If you have no interest in multi-stage music fests with massive crowds of hot and sweaty people, then the next two weekends are NOT good weekends to be here.
