2014 Chevrolet Impala First Look - 2012 New York Auto Show - Motor Trend
Based on the same platform as the Buick Lacrosse. 3.6L DI V6 with about 303 HP as the up level optional engine. Base engine 2.5L Ecotec 4 cylinder 195 HP. There's also an Eco model with 2.4L 4 cylinder (182 HP) with electric assist. No word on a performance model other than the 3.6L V6 engine. Guess the upcoming increase in CAFE standards is making it's mark on car companies. Wonder if they'll follow Ford's example and drop a turbo on the 3.6L
It looks smaller inside than the old one. I don't care for the current one, but I would consider buying one (but I don't like the teal interior lighting or the direct-injection engine) as it is heavily discounted cheap space. I wonder if they'll keep the bench seat, though from the looks of the dashboard, probably not.
Not bad looking. I was expecting better but it is a HUGE improvement over the rental queen. The steering wheel doesn't work for me though. For some reason when I look at it from certain angles I keep thinking Honda Crosstour.
As expected, Chevrolet has pulled the wraps off its brand-new 2014 Impala sedan just hours before it makes its world premiere at the New York Auto Show.
I wish all the front ends on their new stuff didn't look the same... I feel like I've seen this car half a dozen times already...
