That is my favorite body style by far for the corvette. If I had the money I would get a resto mod of that body style.

I am English but have lived in Canada for the last seven years, and am on my 3rd Vett dollar per BHP/smile they cant be beet.
In the UK I have owned a 911 and a Boxster and my favorite was an Opel speedster (same as the Lotus Elise) if you can afford to buy Porsche go with 911 real drivers car Boxster much softer but to get similar performance as a Vett you would have to pay a lot more maybe double also cost you four times as much for parts and servicing.A Vett is also very cheap to make it handle and go a lot better
My latest Vett I brought in Chicago and drove back to BC 2007 convertible with only 12,000 miles thousands spent on nice modifications by previous owner. 590BHP 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and load of fun.

Someday I might drive up the road to the Corvette Museum. I dont know, it might be fun. I was always more of a Camaro fan.

Didn't GM make a Pontiac version of the Corvette? Like the Pontiac Banshee? Just curious since we're talking about Vettes here.

Pontiac Banshee was a concept car which was underpinned with corvette components, body-styling but I don't believe any ever made it to production. The banshee name was then used to underpin future firebird models that were introduced, the last one being around 1990-1992, which hinted at many styling cues used on the 1993 firebird.

The Banshee concept came about under DeLorean a few years before the third generation Corvette was introduced. I remember seeing one in a museum exhibit in Chicago years ago. IIRC, the exhibit said that GM execs were concerned that it would outshine the Corvette, so it got the axe, but a lot of its styling went into the '68 Vette.

The c5 is a great car, some maintenance gets a little pricey, still cheaper then average euro luxury car.

I had my dads 2k1 Corvette for a little bit with 6-speed. I ran a 13.2 with a bad 60 ft. With drag radials a potential high 12 second car. Bone stock. It was a blast, little low and you have to watch some uneven pavement but a blast to drive and **** you not I have personally seen low 30s to high 20s mpg.

Monza SS and Monza GT came out in 1962, Banshee came out in 1964, so Chevrolet still had the C3 Corvette styling first.
