I have a 2001 Chevy Cavalier and yesterday my traction off light came on on my dash. I did some searches online, but everyone seemed to say they had other problems with their car at the same time (check engine light is on, car is running rough, etc.) but mine is running fine, just the light is on. Any ideas?

Check your ABS, a lot of cars have their t/c tied into the ABS system

Do the simplest thing first. Run by your local auto parts store, and check your OBD2 codes. If something comes up, you'll have a starting point.

I'd bet that Topher is right, though. This is probably something connected to the ABS system - likely a sensor.

Keep in mind that some vehicles have "manufacturer specific"codes that will not show up on a generic scanner, like the ones they have at AutoZone. And sometimes those codes related to the ABS system.

Also, it is not terribly uncommon for a CEL or ABS light to come on randomly as a fluke. We get one of those about once per week.
